Service Asset and Configuration Management Engineer Alta IT Services, LLC Vienna, VA Apply Now on Partner Site Service Asset and Configuration Management Engineer Location: VA Permanent Placement The Service Asset and Configuration Management team is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Engineer and administrator to work with our internal customers throughout the organization. The ServiceNow Engineer will work directly with Service Owners to define IT services, proactively identify, develop, and build-in process improvement opportunities. This position requires excellent facilitation skills, an exceptional process improvement background and superb time-management skills. Duties include the following: Develop and Administer the ServiceNow Platform Gather and document user and process requirements, and create use-cases based on the gathered requirements Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to provide architectural and technical guidance and oversight for ServiceNow solution implementation Develop workflows, manage system configurations, implement Service-Now customization including, but not limited to, Client Scripts, UI policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, Business Rules, workflow administration, report setup, and data imports and exports Implement, Customize and Maintain ITIL modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Service Catalog, CMDB in ServiceNow Perform ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB maintenance Articulate technical concepts using easily understandable business language Research and Deploy new Service Catalog Items into the ServiceNow live environment Perform System and integration testing with sample/live data with Support Services team Create reports and provide data analysis to support the program, processes and services Work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features Train, guide and mentor less experienced staff Provide technical guidance and assistance to internal customers and other ISD staff Perform other duties as assigned Required : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience Demonstrated ServiceNow Developer and Administrative expertise Scripting in ServiceNow Strong working knowledge of various ServiceNow components such as Change Management, Service Desk and Service Request Management Project management or development lifecycle skills beneficial Good analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technological problems Business requirements analysis 1 plus years of experience using JavaScript, Angular JS XML, HTML, etc Experience integrating with web services (publishing or consuming) Understanding of principles and definitions of Configuration Management, including data modeling, definition of configuration item types and CIs, mapping of CIs to business applications, functions and services Capable of working on multiple projects, resolve conflicting requests, and adapt to changing requirements and priorities Ability to create and maintain detailed schematics and other documentation for system and product solutions Ability to apply research and analytical techniques to the design and development of new and existing systems and products Proven skillset in troubleshooting and resolving complex system and product defects Experience with system and product performance, reliability and availability Generate capacity forecasts for system and product solutions Capable of working on multiple projects, resolve conflicting requests, and adapt to changing requirements and priorities Experienced in large project efforts from a technical perspective Strong analytical, planning and technical problem solving skills Ability to clearly and concisely present findings and conclusions Ability to exercise initiative, produce desired results and achieve objectives Solid documentation and organizational skills Comfortable working with all levels of employees, including senior management Effective written and verbal communications skills Proficiently lead, guide, and mentor others Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Desired : Advanced degree or formal training Experience with the Client Tools Suite (uCMDB, Service Manager and Asset Manager) Certification in appropriate engineering discipline Familiarity with financial industry Understanding of ITIL concepts and/or certification in ITIL Knowledge of client's operations, processes and procedures In-depth knowledge and experience with client's products and services Extensive presentation skills Possesses the most advanced technical skills ALTA IT Services, LLC. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, gender, age, color, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other factor.
